11. “guys’ taste seems to mature as they get older.” Definitely. Well, change, anyway. But so does women’s. And it’s not surprising because we’re looking for different things when we’re older. Teenagers are much more focused on experience in the present moment (i.e. getting laid, getting drunk, dancing, whatever). When they hit 30 they’re more like to be looking for a mother/father for their kids. This means making different choices in friends and lovers.
12. If David says he’s looking for a LTR, and he’s looking in the bars, I’d say he’s still just looking to get laid, but he figures it’s better to have one girl who keeps putting out for him than have to try to pick up a lot of different ones. That’s why he’s not interested in the choir singer.

17. As for friendly conversations, they have to have the opportunity to be repeated, which means a social circle and semi regular contact is needed. Most normal guys do not ask out the girl they just talked to for a bit after meeting her randomly somewhere.

19. These days many guys actually consider the first real date to be an indicator of enough mutual interest, outside of online dating anyway, that you could be headed to relationship territory. So you have to consider your interactions with guys prior to that to be vying for that first date. You have to entice the guy enough to get him to ask you to be his girlfriend, and that takes at least a few hours of interactions, not a few minutes.

24. Bars are social venues for many people of a wide age variety. Its not like everyone goes to a bar looking for a one night stand. People meet friends and collegues there. Happy hour after work for chillin’. Haven’t been dancing in a while – girls night out with married friends. So many things.

27. And personally, I have never heard of anyone asking or being asked out from a brief interaction at a library or shop. I think that sort of thing only happens in movies.
